Soy Wax Candles

Helpful Hints

Our candles are designed to burn for 3-4 hours at a time. Your candles should be liquid from edge to edge before extinguishing. Should you burn your candle for less than the recommended time, your candle will start to "tunnel". Tunneling burns a hole down the center of the candle leaving the surrounding wax unused. Note - should this occur, and the tunnel has NOT gone too deep, you may be able to correct the problem by allowing your candle to burn longer than recommended. This will increase the intensity of the flame and allow the candle to burn the wax that was left unused. PLEASE monitor your candle carefully should you choose to do so.

Soy candles will not smoke if the wicks are properly trimmed and your candle is not in a draft. Trimming the wick to ¼ inch maintains a proper flame, keeps your candle burning evenly and maximizes the burn time. What you are seeing when the candle is smoking is the carbon that is unable to burn off because of the flame's intensity (the wick is too long) or the presence of a draft in the room.

Our cotton-braided wicks can be easily trimmed. Just pinch off the wick with your fingers or a pair of scissors once it has cooled. Trim the wick to ¼ inch after every use! Since soy candles burn longer and slower than paraffin candles, you will enjoy longer burn times!

Soy candles are sensitive to temperature fluctuations. Keep your candle from sitting near or directly in contact with air conditioning or direct sunlight. Exposure to heat and cold may change the appearance of the wax in the glass container. Sometimes spots may appear and the wax may look less adhered to the glass. This is common with soy candles and in no way hinders the quality of the product.

Remember, keep all candles out of the reach of children and never leave a candle burning unattended. Keep candles out of drafts and always burn on a heat resistant surface area.
